This is the era of 5G and the upcoming smartphone will come with 5G technology at the end of 2019. If you read our post continuously, recently we have written an article in Huawei 5G processor.
As you know Huawei is the last brand in the world. Most of the electronic part of the smartphone is developed by Huawei. On 5 September, Huawei has launched two new processors and these processors come with the latest technology.
These next-generation smartphones are SoC called HiSilicon Kirin 990. Different variants of both SOCs come without 5G and 5G. It is built on SoC 7nm technology, the Kirin 990 processor uses TSMC 7nm FinFET Plus EUV.
The Snapdragon 855 processor is also designed in 7nm technology and Apple is also planning to launch its A13 Bionic within the 7nm technology. So now the biggest question is which processor is the best?
Kirin 990 5G vs Snapdragon 855
The HiSilicon Kirin 990 processor is an octa-core CPU, a combination of the latest technology. Inside the processor are 2x Cortex-A76 2.86GHz, 2x Cortex-A76 2.36GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 1.95GHz. Huawei has promised that this processor gives you 25% better efficiency than the Kirin 980 processor. As you know the Snapdragon 855 is also a 5G compatible processor and this processor is also designed in 7nm technology. Both processor Kirin 990 and Snapdragon 855 processors give you better experience and reliability.
The Kirin 990 processor has the same Mali-G76 GPU as the Kirin 980. But Huawei optimizes its CPU and reduces battery consumption and 12% performance increase than GPU Kirin 980.
Huawei is offering you a dedicated quad-core NPU and is a built-in da Vinci architecture. If you understand, what is AI? So, of course, you also understand the meaning of NPU.
NPU means Neural Processing Unit, it helps to improve your performance and provide you a better experience with the help of AI.
The 5G variant Kirin 990 SOC has a dual big core + tiny core configuration, while the 5G variant SOC has a single big core + tiny core setup.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro & Mate 30 is planning to launch this smartphone with Kirin 990 CPU. The Huawei camera is also advanced, with 8K 30fps video recording at the SOC being playable.
Overall, both SOCs have similar specifications but only the difference between the 5G variants. If you find this article interesting, please share and comment, if you have any questions, please ask me in the comment box.
